  • What is Dysport?
Dysport is a popular non-surgical, injectable treatment used to rid the face of lines and wrinkles. One of the most popular cosmetic procedures in the world with more than 7 million treatments performed last year.
  • How does Dysport work?
Dysport is a neurotoxin (a form of botulinum toxin type A) that is injected into targeted treatment areas using an ultra-fine needle. The neurotoxin works by blocking nerve signals to prevent the muscles in areas of the face from contracting to allow the skin to remain smooth and unwrinkled.
  • Are Dysport injections painful?
Most patients say they experience minimal discomfort during the injection process but does not linger post procedure. Because Dysport treatment requires no anesthesia or recovery time, some patients even schedule appointments for Dysport injections during their lunch hour.
  • Is Dysport safe?
Dysport is FDA-approved as a safe treatment for reversing lines and wrinkles. Patients who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have certain neurological diseases should not receive Dysport treatments.
  • Are there any precautions I should take before receiving Dysport treatments?
Before treatments, it's advisable to avoid alcohol, strenuous exercise, and blood-thinning medications and supplements such as aspirin, ibuprofen, Gingko Biloba, or Ginseng, which are known to thin the blood. This will help minimize the potential side effects that may include slight bruising, swelling and/or redness or tenderness around the injection site. Consult with your provider for specific pre-treatment guidelines.
  • Can anyone perform Dysport/dermal filling injections?
A doctor or specially trained nurse or physician assistant can inject the filler. Procedures are minimally invasive and performed often times at a doctors office. For most attractive and natural looking results, choosing an experienced practitioner with skill and experience is vital.
  • What are dermal fillers?
Dermal fillers are injectable substances used to restore volume, smooth wrinkles, and enhance facial contours. They are made with hyaluronic acid and are typically used for cosmetic purposes to rejuvenate the skin and create a more youthful appearance.
  • How do dermal fillers work?
Dermal fillers work by adding volume to areas of the skin that have lost elasticity and smoothness. They can fill in wrinkles and lines, add plumpness to lips, and enhance facial features by attracting and retaining water.
  • What are dermal fillers made of?
Dermal fillers can be made from various materials, including hyaluronic acid, calcium hydroxylapatite, poly-L-lactic acid, and others. At Bella Vita Downtown, we only use hyaluronic fillers, as they are known for their safety and versatility.
  • Are dermal fillers safe?
Dermal fillers are considered safe when administered by trained and qualified professionals. However, like any medical procedure, there can be risks and potential side effects. It's essential to choose a skilled practitioner and discuss potential risks and benefits beforehand.
  • Are dermal fillers painful?
Dermal filler injections can cause some discomfort, but most products contain a local anesthetic to minimize pain during the procedure. Additionally, practitioners may use topical numbing creams or ice to reduce discomfort.
  • Are there any side effects of dermal fillers?
Common side effects include temporary redness, swelling, bruising, and mild discomfort at the injection site. Serious complications are rare but can occur, so it's important to choose a qualified provider.
  • Can dermal fillers be reversed if I don't like my results?
Yes, many hyaluronic acid fillers can be reversed with an enzyme called hyaluronidase. It can dissolve the filler and restore the previous appearance if desired.
  • Are there any precautions I should take before receiving dermal fillers?
Before treatments, it's advisable to avoid alcohol, strenuous exercise, and blood-thinning medications and supplements such as aspirin, ibuprofen, Gingko Biloba, or Ginseng, which are known to thin the blood. • How does RF (Radiofrequency) Microneedling work?
Microneedling works by applying sterile microneedles deep into the dermis of the skin. These needles: Create microscopic channels deep within the dermis to stimulate the natural production of collagen, elastin, and fibroblast activity Deliver radio-frequency heat energy at the desired depths to promote remodeling of collagen and elastin that tightens and lifts the skin
  • When can you expect to see results from a VirtueRF treatment?
A benefit of RF Microneedling is that the collagen you build is your own so results are natural, immediate and will continue to improve with time. Results continue to build for months due to neocollagenesis!
  • What makes VirtueRF a virtually pain-free treatment?
Virtue RF microneedles are driven into the skin using the exclusive robotic precision delivery (RPD) system. The insertion is so exact that it creates no tearing or trauma to the skin (unlike microneedling pens or other RF microneedling systems that can scratch the skin causing pain, blood and sebum in the channels and mixed outcomes). Typically, your provider will apply numbing cream prior to the treatment depending on the area of concern for added comfort.
  • What can you expect after a VirtueRF treatment?
One of the key benefits of a Virtue treatment is that there is no social downtime. The skin may appear red for a few hours but the exclusive post-care regimen works to sooth the skin so most will only notice a post-treatment tightening and glow to their skin. Your provider may recommend no make-up for 24hrs and of course, its always important to use sun protection.
  • How long does a VirtueRF treatment take?
The length of a treatment depends on the area being treated and the protocol being followed. Typically, a full face treatment will take 20-30 minutes.
  • Who is the right candidate for VirtueRF?
Virtue RF is a truly ageless procedure. It is used as a preventative and a corrective treatment for patients with light to dark skin types. It is important to talk to your provider about any concerns you might have before your Virtue RF treatment.
  • What areas of the body can be treated with VirtueRF?
The Virtue RF system has the capacity for multiple handpieces to optimize treatments in specific areas. Popular treatment areas include the face, neck, décolleté, hands, abdomen, biceps/triceps, and inner thighs.
  • How many VirtueRF treatments will I need?
This is a variable dependent on the patient's goals and area of the body being treated. Most providers will recommend a series of three to four treatments, spaced 4-6 weeks apart. To maintain superior results, a treatment every 6 months is recommended.
  • What is VirtueRF's post treatment?
Only the Virtue RF pairs every treatment with the most innovative sheet mask technology available - Microcurrent Dual Face Mask . The unique dual-mask system uses patented Tissue X™ microcurrent technology to deliver skin soothing ingredients deeper into the skin. Rich in antioxidants, vitamins and moisturizing and anti-inflammatory properties, it eliminates redness and optimizes the post-RF microneedling healing. The wet mask Immediately soothes the skin with: Sodium Hyaluronate Aloe Vera Extract Caffeine The dry mask is woven with scientifically proven, Tissue X™ technology uses differences in ions to generate a microcurrent without the use of separate devices, electricity or metals. Developed by FRANZ skincare.
  • Is the MotusAZ+ laser safe for all skin types?
One of the revolutionary aspects of the Motus AZ+ is the ability to offer SkinclusiveTM Alexandrite laser hair removal technology to patients with ALL skin tones from light to dark. Practitioners no longer need to settle for Nd:YAG or diode lasers for hair removal on patients with dark skin. With the Motus laser devices, all patients can achieve optimal laser hair removal clearance in fewer treatment sessions. This ultimately translates to a broader community of satisfied patients, while providers are naming the Motus AZ+ laser the best laser hair removal device in the market.
  • What treatments does the Moveo Laser provide?
Motus AZ+ includes standard 4 Moveo handpieces to expand your practices treatment options and elevate your investment. Moveo HR for hair removal trusted as truly pain-free across all patient skin types for a Skinclusive benefit. Moveo PL leverages Moveo delivery with the power of Alexandrite to treat large areas of pigment comfortably. Moveo SR introduces Moveo delivery to skin revitalization for smooth and comfortable collagen stimulation with Nd:YAG wavelength. Moveo VL combines Moveo delivery with the Nd:YAG to target diffuse vascular lesions and generalized redness with comfort you can't expect from other lasers on the market.
  • How does the Moveo technology work?
Moveo technology uses simple, continuous movements over a small area gradually delivering a precise dosage of energy to the targeted tissue without damaging the surrounding skin. The cooled sapphire tip on the Motus AZ+ makes treatments safe and completely comfortable for the patient. Moveo delivery is the technological breakthrough that made pain-free laser hair removal for all skin-types. This proprietary Moveo technology was developed to overcome the traditional limitations of the Alexandrite 755nm laser. Now the same technology is available on the Motus AZ+ for pigmented lesion, skin revitalization, and diffused vascular lesions with the Nd:YAG 1064nm laser.
  • How is more energy delivered through Moveo compared to other lasers?
Most laser systems require a spacer between the energy source and the skin and deliver the energy through the air. These devices emit energy that is largely reflected or refracted by the skin thus reducing the energy available for therapeutic purposes. The unique Moveo handpiece was designed to solve this problem. The sapphire tip and contact cooling handpiece glides directly on the skin, enabling nearly 100% energy absorption. The result is double the energy transfer compared to other laser devices.
  • Fast, pain free, comfortable laser treatments?
The gradual heating eliminates the “rubber-band” sensation that most laser devices generate. Instead, treatments are comfortable and quick. The large 20mm sapphire tip means areas can be treated quickly. The Motus AZ+ also features integrated contact cooling to add to the unmatched comfort.
  • How does PHYSIQ work?
PHYSIQ targets tissues and muscle with its unique STEP technology. STEP programs are customized sequences of timed phases of deep heat and muscle stimulation. The deep heat phase from PHYSIQ’s super luminescent diode matrix (SDM) targets tissue while electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) creates muscle contractions to re-educate the muscle in the targeted area.
  • What should I expect before, during and after my PHYSIQ treatment?
BEFORE your PHYSIQ treatment, if necessary, you will want to shave the targeted area. It’s a good idea to increase your water intake prior. PHYSIQ has four independent applicators that can deliver both heat and EMS. Your provider will place up to four applicators spaced along the desired area and secure them with a PHYSIQ band. DURING your treatment you may feel warmth at the applicator site and you will feel muscle contractions during the EMS phases. Should you feel discomfort, you may use the patient control button which adjusts the energy modulation without impacting the effectiveness of the treatment. AFTER your treatment, it is important to massage the area with the PHYSIQ body lotion that was designed to complement your body treatment.  One bottle of the PHYSIQ body lotion will allow you to continue this massage, twice daily, between treatments. The area(s) may feel warm for a few hours post treatment. Strenuous exercise and activities that raise your body temperature should be avoided for at least 48 hours.
  • How long is a single PHYSIQ treatment?
The length of treatment will depend on the area being treated but on average, treatments are thirty minutes.
  • Can I treat more than one area in a single PHYSIQ session?
PHYSIQ has four applicators which may be used in sets of two on multiple areas in one single session. A maximum of three areas may be treated in one day.
  • How many PHYSIQ treatments will I need?
The recommendation is 5 sessions with each session spaced one week apart. EMS may be used alone to maintain results after full STEP sessions. However, everyone is different so it is important for you to talk to your provider about those areas you’d like to target and your goals.
  • What makes PHYSIQ a virtually pain-free treatment?
First, the deep penetration of heat combined with sapphire cooling at the skin’s surface leads to only a minimal increase in the temperature of the skin. This allows the patient to be comfortable without sacrificing efficacy. Next, the cycling between heat and EMS with STEP ensures the optimal temperature is reached and maintained throughout the treatment Lastly, patients have a control button to make any adjustments for comfort without impacting the efficacy of the session.
